SSD (Solid State Disk) is the future storage option for laptop and desktop computers alike.
SSD units have no moving parts and as such the consume much less power, hence improving the battery life of any laptop.
They are also more reliable than standard HDDs and for added peace of mind they include an ECC Error-Correction feature.
This product is designed with a SATA interface for use in newer systems with support for SATA.

Transcend's 2.5-inch SATA SSD series has a distinct advantage over standard 2.5" HDDs in that they are made of solid-state memory with no moving parts, and therefore not susceptible to mechanical failure resulting from vibration, shock, heat, etc.
Its modern SATA interface delivers higher data transfer rates than standard IDE and ensures compatibility with today's high performance notebook and desktop computers.
If intending to install and run an operating system from SSD we recommend choosing a product built using SLC Flash chips.
